Royal Tenenbaum is broke and doing his best to get a job as an elevator operator at the Home For Wayward Girls and Fallen Women. World on the street is his kids (and a whole bunch of other characters from Wes Anderson films) are in the show!
Featuring your host Cherry Pitz and her very special co-host — Handsome Brad as Royal Tenenbaum.
Performances by Puss N Boots, Liberty Rose, Brief Sweat, Lilin, Pearls Daily & Karina Libido. With Le Grand Chaton warming up the crowd and introducing Babbling Babs, who will be keeping everything neat and tidy!
Wes Anderson has been nominated for several Academy Awards, and his off beat films are just ripe for a burlesque tribute from Hotsy Totsy!
Hotsy Totsy Burlesque is New York’s only episodic, monthly burlesque show featuring a different script each month and a rotating cast. Hotsy Totsy is a high camp soap opera featuring some of the best burlesque talent New York has to offer.Once a month you are invited to the basement of The Home For Wayward Girls and Fallen Women. The residents of the home need money to keep their hotel open and to buy G-strings and glitter. Sadly, the shows have had their technical difficulties and in the past as they’ve had to combat zombies, gangsters, human-animal hybrids, televangelists and snake oil salesmen. The performers promise you beautiful, clothing-averse men and women, lots of laughs, spinning tassels, and flying underpants. So join us for Hotsy Totsy Burlesque at The Home For Wayward Girls and Fallen Women where the motto is “We’ve fallen, we can’t get up, and we like it that way!”
Upcoming Tribute Themes:
December: Star Wars
January 2017: Muppets
February 2017: Ladies of Disney

“All-encompassing in its nod to vaudeville, the show is high on craft. And while it carries history’s torch of old school stage entertainment, Hotsy Totsy slips in a message for our times, that “the geek shall inherit the earth.” – The Edge
